New Seminar on DDM, Parallel Computation, Linux Parallel Clusters (Dongwoo Sheen)

Place: Sangsan Math. Sci. Reserach Building #307
Time: Starting at 2:00pm, Wednesday
New Seminar on Domain Decomposition Methods, Parallel Computation , and Linux Parallel Clusters
Domain Decomposition Methods (DDM) are the most recent successful numerical methods for solving in parallel computers various partial differential equations that arise in sciences, engineerings, etc. Parallel computers and computational algorithms have been developed very intensively in the past twenty years with practical applications to many significant fields, which are believed to be the right way for the computational scientists to try to go for solving large scale computational problems. These days the development of linux clusters enables to construct an inexpensive system for the parallel computation. In this seminar, we will cover related topics from the very beginning level to the most advanced level. Interested graduate students are strongly encouraged to attend the seminar, and contribute themselves.
